The Maasai struggle with diminished terrain on which to graze their livestock and their culture is threatened by commercial and development pressure, hence they are dependent on organizations and volunteers helping the adapt to these new conditions.
Depending on volunteer interests, volunteers will touch on issues of healthcare, micro enterprise, water and sanitation, and poverty alleviation. Projects include such as building schools, digging wells, constructing desks, constructing fences and many other community development projectes alongside the Maasai community. This is an opportunity to gain a different outlook and experience, in addition to helping in areas of need.
