With a dual focus of community outreach health and hospital placement, the Elective Abroad Nursing placement is a lifetime opportunity to get a hands-on exposure as well as learn the offering of healthcare in a different setting, mostly in developing countries. The alarming statistics of healthcare personnel fleeing to the developed worlds for greener pastures has caused a running acute shortage in healthcare personnel; this fact thus allows a nursing student to assist in various duties as their presence then complements the existing professionals. The roles of nurses go beyond basic functions in developed countries. This is further propelled by the limited resources in the developing countries. The high patient load equally pushes the nurses demand a to a notch higher especially in teaching public hospitals thus sharpening participating student nurse’ skills and exposure

In as much as we shall endeavor to work with you at developing your own placement objectives and program, the Elective Abroad standard nursing elective facilitates nursing students who are at the end of their nursing studies with a 4-6 weeks clinical preceptorship to practice medicine in a highly supervised medical setting at Government healthcare facilities
